In 2021, Erika joined the esteemed ranks of the "Turning Tables" Bar Program Cohort III, propelling her from server to bartender with grace. This pivotal moment allowed her to pour her newfound expertise into her brainchild, Taste of the Tropics. This venture is a testament to her commitment to fostering cultural appreciation, offering meticulously handcrafted products and immersive pop-up experiences that celebrate Caribbean heritage.

Erika's journey has taken her from behind the bar at the rum-oriented "Cane & Table," where she honed her craft and celebrated her heritage, to her current role as Bar Lead at Compere Lapin, owned and led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Nina Compton. Here, she continues to push boundaries, crafting innovative cocktails and leading her team with flair and finesse. 

Her impact extends far beyond the bar, as evidenced by her certification from the Bar 5-Day program, WSET Level 2 in Spirits, and host of brand partnerships that have provided her opportunities to showcase her talents across the nation. Additionally, Erika was recently recognized as one of PUNCH's 10 Best New Bartenders of 2023 and Top 10 U.S. Bartender of the 2024 by Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.
